General Discussion.
OK, a catch-all for anything that doesn’t fit in the other categories.
One thing I want to mention up front is just how big a project this turned into – if you read the emails how it all got started, this was something akin to a couple of guys coming up with a crazy idea over a beer. That we saw it through – that it took weeks of prep, long days of testing, then months of crunching data and building the website, (not to mention something like $15,000 total expenses) – amazes me. I’m one for doing these sorts of crazy projects, but still . . . well, I hope others find it useful. Even if we only inspire others to do more research, or for those who have proprietary data about ammo performance to release it to the public, then we’ll have accomplished something of which we can be proud.

The Data.
Here is a post pertaining to the data – how we recorded it, how the spreadsheets were made, how the graphs were created, et cetera. Questions or comments about a specific caliber/ammo should be posted on those entries.

Here is a post pertaining to the general procedures used in the testing (about the equipment or set up, et cetera), rather than specific questions about a given caliber or ammo.

Welcome!
As noted there to the right, this blog is intended to be a discussion forum primarily concerned with the ‘nuts & bolts’ of how we did our testing and the results we obtained, not a general gun discussion forum. As such, you’ll find a number of posts already created pertaining to each of the different calibers, as well as some general topics – just go to the appropriate entry and pose a question or comment, then you can follow the discussion either by visiting the blog or subscribing to the RSS feed. If a discussion thread gets too long, or takes a turn which warrants further attention on its own, we’ll create a new post and shift things over to it.
We reserve the right to moderate comments – to keep them on-topic, and to keep things ‘family friendly’ – but will take a fairly light hand insofar as possible. Your cooperation on this is appreciated.
